Writing is unpaid and volunteer

Unfortunately, we are unable to pay writers at this time. However, we try to increase exposure on the issues you care about as well as help you to increase your public profile as a writer. SWHELPER is a Google News and Apple News Outlet which will give you a larger platform to be heard.

The volunteer time commitment is up to 10 hours per week. Additionally, we help our writers get press access to cover events. View the job description by clicking on the following link:  Volunteer Staff Writer

We are also looking for columnists and regular contributors

We are looking for progressive writers who want to help educate, advocate, and create awareness on issues of health, education, mental health, criminal justice, social work, nonprofit and philanthropy, culture, social good, human rights, global poverty, diversity, disability, LGBT, homelessness, HIV and more.

Writers can share their stories or help elevate the stories of others. We want writers to use their experiences, knowledge, and expertise to help elevate and empower vulnerable people.

We want writers from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines who understands intersectionality and how it affects populations.

We want to share evidence-based information, research, resources, and entertainment to our readers.

What we do is Advocacy Journalism

Our goal is to utilize evidence-based data, research, and expertise of helping professionals when reporting on current events and societal problems in an effort to elevate the voices of vulnerable people.

This platform does not publish content supporting any ideology that fosters inequality and intolerance, and we welcome submissions from all educational backgrounds and disciplines.

Here at SWHELPER, we acknowledge and understand systematic oppression and its effects on vulnerable groups. How do you pull one’s self up when you don’t have boots? As a society, we must use holistic and intersectional solutions on the macro, mezzo, and micro levels in order to remove challenges and barriers to achieving better outcome.
