Christopher Howard

Howard’s research focuses on the history and politics of U.S. social policy. He is the author of two books and numerous book chapters and journal articles. Howard is also co-editor of the Oxford Handbook of U.S. Social Policy (2015). His most recent book, Thinking Like a Political Scientist: A Practical Guide to Research Methods, was published by the University of Chicago Press in 2017. This article was written in collaboration with the Scholar Strategy Network.
