Entitlement Reform
Congress has set a March 1st deadline to address entitlement cuts. Social Work needs to be part of the discussion on welfare and entitlement reform however not one social work organization or institute in the United States has gone on record with their position regarding this important issue.
The team at socialworkhelper.com will be authoring a position paper on entitlement reform that will be submitted to the Congressional Social Work Caucus. We are seeking participants who can help with research, provide testimonials, and enlist social work organizations to review and write a letter in support of the position paper. The first draft will be due January 31st with a tentative completion date of February 15th.
The paper will be the discussion topic for Social Work Chats on Monday, January 14th, at 8 PM EST. To participate in the Twitter chat use #SWUnited. If you can not join us you can review and comment on the chat in the Social Work Chats Archive. You can also join the Social Work Reform Think Tank group here.
