The Conscious Service Approach is a process designed to help integrate all aspects of professional engagement to deepen experiences of authenticity, fulfillment, enthusiasm, and peace! It is not a step by step process – there is no right or wrong way to engage. The four components of the Conscious Service Approach is self-connection, enlightened communication, transformative Relationships and co-creating community.

Let’s take a moment to consider each layer of the Conscious Service Approach in a bit more depth. In each section, I am asking you to think and feel. In other words, approach these questions and statements with both your head and your heart.

I have long been a believer in the interconnected nature of our thoughts and feelings and over the years, I have noticed my tendency to try to think my feelings. This doesn’t work so well.

Yes, we can think about our feelings and it is equally important – essential, in fact – to feel our feelings. So, for any of you who can relate to this, I encourage you to spend time in both states as you work your way through the layers. It is a great opportunity to bring yourself into a heightened state of consciousness and access the deeper stores of information that are just waiting to be examined.

Self-Connection

Think and Feel…

Holistic. Physical sensations. Emotional energies. Spiritual awakenings. Mental processes. Behavioural Responses. Reactions. Self-awareness. Presence. Connection. Engagement. Personal Power. Curiosity. Dynamic. Energized. Enthusiastic. Excited. Focus. Clarity. Joy. Peace. Resources. Values. Attitudes. Beliefs. Motivation. Expectations. Limitations. Doubts. Fears. Desires. Dreams.

Are you self-avoiding? Self-absorbed?

What is the next step?

Waking up with every cell of your being shouting, “let’s go!” Courage.

Enlightened Communication

Think and Feel…

Effective communication strategies amped up!

Helpful. Active. Compassion. Respect. Personal Power. Intention. Empathy. Sacred Space. Active Witness. Process. Outcomes. Detachment. Acceptance. Attention.

What gets in the way of really listening to another?

How do you respond when you are seeing red and want to shoot the messenger?

What happens when you are in conflict with another?

Transformative Relationships

Think and Feel…

Creative Space. Growth. Learning. Personal Power. Equality. Balance. Shared vision. Acceptance. Self-determination. Commonalities. Loving-kindness. Intimacy. Inherent worth. Non-judgement. Encouragement. Generosity. Forgiveness. Mirroring.

What are you judging within yourself and others?

How do you place value on your contributions and those of another?

Are you willing to learn from everyone and everything?

What are you learning right now?

Transformative possibilities are present not only for others, but for ourselves as well! In fact, if we are present and connected, it is possible to notice transformation within ourselves much more readily than we will see it in others.

Co-Creating Community

Co-Creation in Community is about the opportunities for transformation, growth and connection within the group experiences you have in your life. This could include the workplace, your families, various committees you may be involved with – any group setting situation – these are your communities.

Think and Feel…

Synergy. Connection. Willingness. Big picture vision. Details. Bond. Unity. Creativity. All-inclusive. Inviting. Common ground. Highest good. Diversity. Challenge. Forward thinking. Progressive. Reflective.

How have you contributed to the current situation whether you like it or not?

What is your responsibility in the state of the community?

Some of this might sound familiar; some might be new! The key is to open your mind wide enough to consider the less familiar concepts and to examine the familiar ones with a renewed sense of curiosity.

What do you need to embark on this journey? Willingness. Openness. Curiosity. Commitment. Acceptance. Excitement.

The journey into Conscious Service is an ever-evolving one. There is no set destination where you can expect to arrive surrounded by others who have discovered exactly the same things through this process. It is personal and subjective.

But, don’t worry – you are not alone in this. In spite of the fact that you are in the process of unveiling your own personal truths, you will be surrounded and connected to everyone else who is doing the same thing. And just imagine what you can all contribute from that place!

I know that you will be amazed and amused by all that you discover. And I can’t wait to see it!

Let’s get started!

What resonates with you as you explore the layers of the Conscious Service Approach?

What rubs you the wrong way?
